I’m Brock Skinner, and I’m not a career politician. I’m a regular citizen who has watched our city change dramatically over the years. Like many of you, I’ve reached a point where I can no longer sit on the sidelines. I am running because our community needs to focus on two fundamental things: public safety and affordability. Right now, Austin families are being asked to pay more and more, yet our basic services and infrastructure aren't getting the attention they deserve. We must get serious about keeping our streets and neighborhoods safe while ensuring our tax dollars are spent responsibly. My campaign is about cutting needless spending, demanding accountability, and putting Austin taxpayers first. I'm not here to play politics. I am running to bring common sense, transparency, and real accountability back to City Hall.
As I talk with neighbors across Austin, one thing is clear: every family in our community deserves to feel safe in our neighborhoods, on our streets, and in our parks. That is why prioritizing public safety will always be my focus. To make this a reality, we need a city government that gets back to the basics and actually delivers. For me, that means making sure our basic city services are working reliably. It means supporting our police officers so they have the backing they need to do their jobs, and it means ensuring we hold repeat offenders accountable. This is about looking out for one another and making Austin a safe, welcoming place for all of us to live and raise our families.
Here in Austin, taxpayers shouldn’t have to keep paying more and more while our basic city services and infrastructure struggle to keep up. I believe City Hall needs to live within its means. We must cut unnecessary spending, prioritize our core services, and make every single taxpayer dollar count. If you elect me, I will firmly oppose tax increases and push for responsible, accountable spending. Our community deserves a local government that respects your hard-earned money and focuses on the essentials. I am ready to stand up for our taxpayers, ask the tough questions about where our money goes, and ensure we get the strong, reliable basic services we are already paying for. Let's bring responsible spending back to City Hall.

While new projects often get the shiny ribbon cuttings, the truth is that neglecting our existing streets, bridges, and utilities costs all of us more money every single year. As your representative, I will fight to make sure we take care of what we already own before we even think about taking on new debt. This is about common-sense stewardship of our shared resources. We need to invest in fixing our roads and securing our utilities today, so we aren't paying a higher price tomorrow. Small businesses are the backbone of Austin’s economy, but too often they face rising costs, unnecessary regulations, and a city government that makes it harder to succeed. I believe we need to make Austin a place where entrepreneurs can open a business, create jobs, and grow without unnecessary government barriers. I will stand up for Austin’s small businesses and the people who depend on them. My focus is on making our city a supportive partner for local growth, removing these obstacles so our economy can flourish and our community can thrive.
